Tres Dia Reflectiones

By Meredith Higgins ('26)

Today we had the opportunity to serve the local seminary by washing chairs. Together, our team powered through the job, having fun together along the way. But cleaning didn't stop us from soaking each other with water and soap! It was a beautiful morning of sunshine, serving, and smiles. After a wonderful morning, we took the five minute walk back to our base, stopping on the way to see how traditional corn tortillas are made. We even got to try some fresh off the stove that were stuffed with queso fresco! We came back to a delicious lunch served by two of the widows, Suzie and Maria, from the Widow's ministry that is part of CFCI.

Refueled, our team went back out to the seminary school to clean the gym. We spent some time sweeping and washing the floors. It was truly a blessing to be able to serve and see the joy on Wendy's face when the job was done. After this, we headed over to a traditional Guatemalan market a few minutes away. We spent some time exploring the different vendors that were selling fruits, vegetables, clothing, and pottery. It was so cool to see all of the handmade items that were being sold. We even get to play the traditional instrument of Guatemala, the marimba!! We had a wonderful night getting to know our friends Andres and Diego, and are so blessed to be here!
