Team Hungary: Day 3 Reflections

By Josiah Lewis ('26)

Today is Day 3 of our trip to Hungary. We woke up early to prepare for the Hungarian church service. The church was very unique and incorporated many aspects of Hungarian architecture. The service schedule was very similar to American churches as it started with worship, then preaching, and ending with communion. The worship was a mixture of Hungarian and American songs. They don’t normally do American songs but since we where here they did. Following this, a few of us gave our testimonies as this is a major part of Hungarian church life. Mr. Hannan, preached a sermon on Luke 15:3-7. Then communion took place and used actual wine rather than grape juice. The service ended with a final song and the Lord’s prayer. Everyone in the church community was very loving and you could feel God working in this church. Watch the video of our service below:

After the church service we got to tour Kiskòrös and see the beautiful landmarks of the town. One huge part of the town is their hand ball court which is a very popular sport in Hungary. They also have one bridge in the entire town and there isn’t even water underneath.

Today was a wonderful day as we worshiped the Lord and explored the town. We ended the day in prayer and reflection as we prepare to serve the elderly and disabled community in Hungary.
