Team Guatemala Day 7 - "Hearts Lifted, Spirits Refreshed: A Journey to El Mirador"

By Nancy Cataño

The team was extremely blessed today with excellent weather, meaningful cultural sights, a 20 minute climb to " El Mirador", a typical Nicaraguan lunch, a parade in preparation for Holy Week and Palm Sunday, time for some shopping and a boat ride and back across what is known as the most famous lake in the world "El Lago de Atitlan"!

We boarded our bus at 5am and traveled up 5,125 for approximately 2 1/2 hours. We were initially challenged by a climb to the top of "El Mirador, where we had a majestic 360 degree view of God's creation! It was truly breathtaking! There we enjoyed a performance by a trio of Guatemalan Marimba players. Our hosts, Giovani and Wendy taught us the typical  Guatemalan dance! This day is exactly what our team needed to refresh our souls and finish this life-changing mission trip to Guatemala!
