Team Costa Rica's Reflections from Day 4: Eternal Values

Writer: Jeff PhilbrickJeff Philbrick

Due to being  in a third world country, we were unable to connect to the internet to post our  daily blogs and photos. Here they are…

”Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth…. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven…. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“ Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Each morning one of the leaders brings a 5 minute breakfast challenge.

This Bible verse  was brought by Coach Langlois prior to leaving for the mission, in the ghettos of La Carpio.

Upon arriving our team was divided into five groups; a medical clinic service , three work projects which included trash pick up, clearing brush off the side of the hill, and scraping and prepping a wall for a mural while the last group cleaned, organized and categorized the athletic room.

In the afternoon, some continued to clean up the trash, prep the mural, and work on the hill clean up.

The children of La Carpio arrived  and the teens helped them with a craft, made lion masks and then presented the story of Daniel.

We ended our day with a splash - water balloons were flying everywhere with children of all ages, Ticans and Americans, shouting with glee, building relationships.
