What Makes JRHS Unique

At JRHS, we offer more than just classes—we provide an education designed to fulfill our mission: raising the next generation of strong leaders for Jesus Christ. Our three-pronged approach integrates strong  academics, skill-building Project-Based Learning, and comprehensive spiritual development. We challenge students to grow in knowledge, wisdom, skills, and faith within a supportive community, equipping them for success in college, careers, family life, and beyond.

Why Shadow a JRHS Student?

Because our program is distinct, the best way for prospective students—whether from homeschooling, public school, or another private school—to truly understand the JRHS difference is to experience it firsthand. A shadow day offers an immersive look at our program, students, teachers, and beautiful campus, helping students make an informed decision about joining the Sentinel community. Additionally, shadowing helps new students feel more comfortable at the start of the school year, as they will have already met teachers, classmates, and explored the campus.

What to Expect on a Shadow Day

A shadow day begins with students meeting their assigned Student Ambassador. They will attend morning classes alongside their Ambassador, then enjoy lunch while meeting other students and teachers. In the afternoon, they will participate in a Project experience or Outdoor Education. At the end of the day, Ambassadors escort students to the Welcome Center, where they reunite with their parents and reflect on their experience.

How to Schedule a Shadow Day

Prospective students are welcome to shadow most days of the year, yet we recommend Monday, Wednesday, or Friday to experience the most distinctive aspects of our program.

To schedule a shadow day, please contact Kathy Carlson, our Director of Admissions, by calling the school or emailing her at kcarlson@jrhs.org.
