Senior Feature: Aletheia James

Aletheia James began her JRHS career as a shy high school student who struggled with presenting and speaking in front of others. However, she has grown by leaps and bounds having experienced times of growth through the project classes and core classes that JRHS offers.

Because of JRHS’s many opportunities to grow as a student in a myriad of ways, Aletheia James has been able to discover her love for writing and has flourished in developing her skill over her four years at Jesse Remington. She has been able to practice these abilities from helping with the layout of the yearbook to playing key roles in JRHS dramas. In fact, because of these experiences, she has plans to become a teacher and writer in her next academic journey.

Aletheia will pursue her dreams at Houghton College in New York where her focus will be in English. Houghton College has offered for her to be a part of the Honors Program where she will be able to use her talents upon entering college. However, before she heads off for another four years of education, she hopes to work at Camp Sentinel for her second summer as a Christian teen counselor, granting her a wonderful way to experience interacting with younger kids while enjoying a summer break.

Aletheia has a desire to serve the Lord with the talents that God has given her, trusting that God will guide her every step. In fact, her life verse reflects this as Romans 8:38-39 says, “For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Throughout her four years at JRHS, Aletheia’s Christian leadership has paved the way for others to grow in their Christian walk and apply their developing talents for God’s glory.
