The 2024 US-Hungarian Mission Experience came to a close with a special and unique church service and fellowship meal. The whole group of Hungarian travelers, American host families and newly made friends gathered at the Candia Congregational Church for a meaningful and memorable, bi-lingual worship service. Ellie Hyvonen led an ensemble of instrumentalists, each from very different backgrounds and traditions, yet all in one voice worshiping God.The Congregation experienced hymns and praise songs in both languages. Pastor Nimrod Selmeczi preached the message, the importance of sending and receiving missionaries around the world, and how it strengthens both local and international churches. Nimrod shared how he learned the importance of this through his experiences as an international student at JRHS. Many stayed for the brunch to follow, which allowed for "New Family" photos, expression of emotions and tears, and final goodbyes.
