Nimród Selmeczi: International Student Class of 2015

Updated: Sep 17, 2022

In the spring of 2011, JRHS undertook a mission trip to a small village in southwestern Hungary. In the little village of Bodrog, we met the Selmeczi family. A year later, Nimrod began his JRHS career. Enjoy this 10 year reflection:

Preaching at Kiskőrös Baptist

With wife, Petra

I am writing to you, as this fall marks the 10th year anniversary of the beginning of my journey at Jesse Remington High School in NH: I started my sophomore year there in 2012! Its hard to believe, but time flies!

I have known some of you little longer than the 10 years, I met some of you during my time there. However, you all have been part of this story in some way! It would be impossible to try even to summarize how much has happened in my life over the past ten years... I became a husband and a father, I finished my studies, and now I am preparing for my ordination as a pastor this fall. I know its hard to keep in touch with many of you from this distance, but I want to let you know: my goal now is to help Hungarian churches grow in the knowledge of our Father and to be brave in joining His mission. I absolutely found my place returning to my home country and I know God placed me here with a purpose. And I know this is what I was equipped to do at JRHS.

Daughter, Berta

The opportunity you all have given me ten years ago, has changed my life completely! I just wanted to thank all of you for what you have done for me. For trusting me, for supporting me financially, for hosting me in your homes and churches, for taking care of me, for praying for me, for investing in my life, for teaching me so many things about God and life I would have never been able to learn otherwise! I was so greatly loved, encouraged and inspired in many ways during my time in NH. I found my call, made lifelong friendships and amazing memories. This would not have been possible without each one of you!

Youth Group

I know that all of you helped me in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is amazing to me to be part of this global church, His Body. I try to do my best to love others as I learned it from you. When ministry or life gets difficult, and I face challenges I always remember you and am encouraged to move on - God didn't move this many people to help me, just for me to give up. So to sum it up: Thank you all for what you have done for me 10 years ago! Thank you for making a great impact on my life! God bless you all! Nimród
