Jesse Remington High School exemplifies the founding vision of America. Here, you learn hard work, grit, and endurance while developing the strength of character needed to face life’s greatest challenges. America’s founders understood the value of education grounded in the pursuit of truth and that the Bible is the preeminent source of truth. Like a building, a human life requires a solid foundation, and Jesse Remington relies upon the only foundation that will never crumble despite life’s trials.
Early in my time as a student we were taught the mantra “master, mission, mate,” which is simply the ideal priority for a developing man or woman. The Proverbs tell us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and those who rightly prioritize the kingdom of God will have all their needs met. Every aspect of life at Jesse Remington points to keeping God first, before exploring a personal life mission or seeking out a life partner for marriage. Having rightly ordered my life in this way, the Lord has blessed me beyond my capacity to dream it as a high school student.
I attended college at Norwich University and earned a four-year degree in History. Having learned hard work, grit, and endurance as a high school student, college was not academically challenging. And having learned to prioritize my life according to the mantra “master, mission, mate,” it was easy to avoid the alluring vices so prevalent on college campuses. I earned a commission as an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps and married my high school sweetheart within weeks of graduating university. Since then, my wife, Kallee (’07), and I have continued seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and He has been faithful to make our path straight.
While our story seems light and pleasant from the surface it has not been without challenge. We have had to rely upon the foundation of scripture taught in every aspect of life at Jesse Remington. The character and skills learned at this exceptional school matured into daily habits of discipline that over time produced significant returns. I am eternally grateful to my parents who sacrificed to enable me to attend, and I encourage you to take the next step in your role at Jesse Remington. Whether you’re a prospective family, a current family, or in partnership, come be a part of what God is doing in this rising generation.
