JRHS students explored historical sites to study Colonial America for the upcoming Humanities Faire

Writer: Jeff PhilbrickJeff Philbrick

A special day all over Massachusetts and NH yesterday as our students explored historical sites of New England to get a better understanding of Colonial America during the 18th and 19th century. One group, led by Miss Ellie and Mrs. Cross went to the Independence Museum in Exeter and Strawberry Bank in Portsmouth where they saw first hand what life would have been like. One senior said “I never imagined that these people would have lived with the same problems we have today, it’s just that they didn’t know about it as fast because they didn’t have internet!”

It was a special day at Exeter with our tour guide David who even commented that we seemed like a group of college kids! What a great honor for JRHS esteemed students.
