JRHS Students and the Great Commission

Ten courageous and prepared Sentinels hit the streets of Boston recently, questing to live out the Great Commission, if only for a few hours. Under the skilled leadership of Mr. Mark Sohmer, the group set up a base station at the convergence of the Orange and Blue lines of the Boston commuter rail. Armed with only a Gospel tract and a heart to share God’s plan of salvation, the Team made as many approaches as humanly possible during our short visit to the underground. With each coming and going of the trains, the team tried new methods to both hand out tracts that we pray will be of good use, and the ever important spiritual conversation to follow. No outing like this is ever without challenges, and we thank God for our great work with the local police, as well as helping us with “the big tall scary guy” that was super angry with God! A falafel and coffee at “The King” made for a fitting conclusion to a swell day.

Reflections of Evangelism Students

One of the most meaningful things is meeting new people and sharing with them the stories and the knowledge of Jesus. Seeing how different people react to Christianity is also impactful, as it helps me understand the ways people connect with faith and how the message of Jesus can relate uniquely with each individual.

Dylan Woodrow

I would recommend this trip to someone because of how I got to see God work through our group. It was amazing to see us reach so many people in Boston. I truly have grown in my faith by seeing how God worked through us.

Nolan Jeanes

The most meaningful experience for me on the trip was observing others grow in their comfort and ability to talk to strangers and have a positive impact.
