JRHS heads to Philadelphia to serve with the Center for Short Term Missions & Bethel Tabernacle

This year the entire school will be serving with the Center for Short Term Missions (CSTM) and Bethel Tabernacle Church in Philadelphia.  This will be our 5th year working with CSTM. Both JRHS and CSTM prioritize coming alongside and serving with established ministries. For several years CSTM has been ministering with Bethel Tabernacle located in Philadelphia. Ministry opportunities will vary and are likely to include but are not limited to: Children Ministry, serving homeless, a community outreach event, community clean up, work projects and serving with an equestrian ministry (Locust Lane Riding Center) outside the city.  These ministries are relational and encourage evangelism.

While these efforts will occupy the majority of our time, we will take advantage of learning about our history, with opportunities to visit the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and the Constitution Center. More, we will also take an afternoon in Amish/Lancaster County to catch a show at the Sight and Sound Theater.

We place tremendous value on mission experiences.

One reason we continue to utilize mission trips is the testimony of many of our alumni who share that mission experiences were critical in their understanding of their call and vocation. Students will be encouraged to leave behind the distractions and enjoy a week of community and personal growth. Team and personal devotions along with journal writing are tools we utilize to help students process their experiences.  Our desire is for students to recognize during their time at JRHS that Christian Ministry is not limited to mission trips or even working in a church but can and should be part of our everyday lives as we seek to Honor the Lord.

You're invited to join us to learn how God used our team in Philly at one or both of our upcoming events. Students will be sharing testimonies during our next Agape Lunch on Thursday, April 18th at 12:15 pm. We'll also be holding a Mission Trip Testimony Night with a potluck dinner on Friday, April 26th at 6:00 pm.

Please be in prayer for our team and the mission work at hand! We leave on Sunday, April 7th and return on Saturday, April 13. Thank you to all who have supported our Mission Trip with prayers and financial gifts.
