Introducing Sheridan Knecht to the JRHS Faculty!

Writer: Jeff PhilbrickJeff Philbrick

We are pleased to announce our new “Student Advocate”, Mrs. Sheridan Knecht, who began her work with us this summer. Mrs. Knecht is a Houghton grad, where she met and fell in love with our own “Professor Knecht.” Perhaps what is most exciting in their life is the soon-anticipated birth of their baby girl. Sheridan will be working with students and parents to help maximize student learning and the overall JR Experience. Welcome aboard Mrs. Knecht, and we look forward to seeing how you will serve at JRHS. Six things to know about Mrs. Sheridan Knecht:

What do you love about teaching?

I love seeing students succeed and helping them learn the skills and tools to do that. I enjoy building relationships with students and seeing them grow in confidence as well as ability.

What do you see about JRHS that is intriguing to you? and/or Why do you want to teach at JRHS?

I have been blessed to be part of the JRHS community for the past two years, and I believe in their mission to raise up effective leaders for Jesus Christ. The unique approach that JRHS takes truly meets the needs of high school students.

How do you see yourself adding to the program?

I look forward to being a resource for students and parents to help them succeed in the JRHS learning environment. I spent nearly a year before moving to New Hampshire working with a ministry that specializes in soft skills training, work readiness, and mentoring, and I am excited to use what I learned there to help the JRHS community.

What do you like to do recreationally?

I like playing board games, playing the piano, reading, and spending time with people.

Where do you go to Church?

My husband and I attend Candia Congregational Church, where I serve on the music team.

What else should we know about you?

I tell just as many (if not more) corny dad jokes than Mr. Knecht does!
