Today was one of those days when you truly feel like you are catching a glimpse of what heaven will be like. We spent the day in Christian fellowship with the beautiful church here in Chimaltenango, called Alpha and Omega. The head missionaries, Giovanni and Wendy have been part of this church for over 15 years and it is evident that the Spirit of the Lord is working and blessing that church. After worship and an incredible sermon about the power of the resurrection, we shared the Lords Supper and then spent time in fellowship and having coffee and bread - typical Guatemalan fashion!

A body of 300 people, and yet the leader ship and biblical preaching and all generations is so strong! We were honored and blessed that they allowed us to lead one worship song and give a small testimony, even though they had never allowed that before. The Jesse Remington student worship team was incredible as they only had a few minutes to prepare, but just gave their hearts and talents to the Lord and He blessed that. We spent beautiful time in the afternoon hearing testimonies from some volunteers here at Christ for the City International Guatemala, and how the Lord called each and every person to this ministry in the last few years. They are a group of 14 volunteers who give their hearts and lives to Gods work here in Guatemala. It is a very new ministry, and they are in need of much, at least needs as we might define them. But their hearts are so open to the Lord and they trust him to provide what they need! The reward is eternal and their passion and love for the Lord and for others is an inspiration to us.

After a fun soccer game against the Guatemalans, we shared a beautiful dinner that was interrupted by a rain storm halfway through, and we had to grab our plates and run inside because the roof leaks! What a fun interruption! The other glimpse of heaven came in the night time when we all shared Spanish and English worship, and shared how the Lord worked in another person that day. There is nothing so sweet as reflecting on the word of God with brothers and sisters across continents!
