Alumna Ellie Philbrick (2019) addresses student body at the Christmas gathering

By Cheryl Crawford, Administrator

What a blessed afternoon Jesse Remington High School Students and Faculty had on Friday. We set out in the afternoon for some Outdoor Education skating fun at the JFK Coliseum, then headed to FaithBridge church (big thank you to Rich and Abbey Clegg) for lunch, fellowship, and crafts. We were blessed to hear the mission trip testimony of Eleanore Philbrick, Class of 2019. Ellie shared the value of her JRHS mission trips as it prepared her for her recent Wheaton College internship in Costa Rica. Ellie taught Bible studies, loved and cared for girls rescued from sex trafficking, and provided prayer, clothing, and food to those living on the streets. These acts of service demonstrate God’s tangible love, care, mercy, and provision to those who suffer in ways we cannot even imagine and are often life-changing. Ellie challenged us to love people by developing relationships. She emphasized that hearts soften by our actions and reactions towards people and challenged us to consider James 2:25-26.

Here is Ellie showing a slideshow of working with teenage girls, street evangelizing, "love is built on relationships", and James 2:23-26.
