2024-25 2Q Project Class: Christmas Gala

Writer: Jeff PhilbrickJeff Philbrick

By: Hailey Chapman, Class of 2022

The Christmas Gala project class is led by Ellie Hyvonen and involves students in the planning of the annual Christmas Gala Celebration! This year’s theme is “Shalom- Peace on Earth!” and the students are working hard to prepare for it. They are organizing Christmas-themed crafts, selecting stories for the fireplace, and planning the Chapel program for the night. The students are learning valuable time management skills, as this is a big task to tackle, and the date is quickly approaching: December 14, 4-9pm. The students get to collaborate on what they think will be the best activities and events for the evening, strengthening their situational discernment. When asked about the most interesting part of planning such a large event, they said it’s, “Being able to work on so many different projects under one umbrella. It’s great to have diversity in what I want to work on in a given day.”
